The GP Bar–B (Friday 27th August ‘99)
| It was late in the year, after one of the evening races that we realised that we hadn’t had a GP Bar-B. “What are we going to do”? said Den “Where can we hold it”? Instantly our prayers were answered. An unsuspecting Marjorie (who we hadn’t seen all season through injury, came in) and within minutes it was “I’ll do it”. We had convinced her, that it was her turn to hold it. |  |

The poster went up, and the word spread around and Marjorie laid on a smashing do for us, catering for eighteen. She even got Jack and Waveney to turn out, which is something we’ve struggled with all season. | |
|
Much interest went on Marjorie’s Classic cars in the garage, an old Morgan and a Spitfire, which were the first two cars she had owned. Anyway we sat out all night, the weather was kind and thanks again to Marjorie, we had a great time. Better start planning earlier next year, as I can’t see her falling for it again. |
