FINANCIAL REPORT
Treasurer away but Den presented David’s report on the year’s income and expenditure. Balance similar to last year despite a loss on our Open Weekend. All agreed to keep a healthy balance to give us a backup should a future event fail.

4.

CLASS CAPTAIN’S REPORT
Found the experience at Sailing Committee valuable.-  Ian reported on the Carnac week.
The GP14 Open weekend 8/9 August was a successful format, well supported with entries up.
Saturday afternoon sailing has deemed to be a success and will continue next year but the extra volunteers were difficult to find especially Race Officers. David Goodliffe proposed that should there be a problem in 2010 that the GP14 class would support compulsory duties across all the classes for all those who paid a race fee. Late entries would be put on a list of reserves. Proposal agreed by all. - Vote of thanks to Ian for his efforts during the year.

5.

SOCIAL SECRETARY’S REPORT
Annual Dinner 2008.
53 Guests – very successful with a music quiz and a cabaret Elvis.
Skittles March 2009 – April 3rd – One week before racing started, venue and food ok but agreed to try somewhere different. Suggestions included The Langton Arms at Tarrant Monkton or the PH that the Dayboats use near Bloxworth.
Barbecue. Held at Pat and Den’s on July 25th enjoyed by all.
Picnic did not happen but all agreed we should plan it earlier, possibly for June. Andy Welch prepared to organise the games.
All agreed we should present the Trophies at the forthcoming GP14 dinner.
New class captain will be absent but we have a cardboard cut out for the inauguration.

GP14 Open Weekend 31 July / 1 Aug
– Date clashes with GP14 Nationals but one of the London club’s requested this date, usual format agreed.

8.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS.
Southern Championships’
– Andy Welch thought we should support the event and round up some interest from our club.
GP14 Cruising Week – We need to talk to the office to check on the charges. 15th August was a suggested date.
Try a GP Weekend 2010 – It was suggested that we fund a weekend to introduce members to the GP14 – End of June suggested with  a free BBQ or Tea. It would coincide with the 60th Anniversary of the GP14.
