ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - P.Y.C. GP FOURTEEN CLASS

             Minutes of the meeting held at The Clubhouse on Wednesday 28 November 2007              ­

FINANCIAL REPORT
Treasures Report circulated with a breakdown of income & expenditure.
Balance will be reduced by approx £100 due to extra Open Weekend  charges from PYC.
Loss on Open Weekend of £170

 

4.

CLASS CAPTAIN’S REPORT
Enjoyable year – thank you to Maggs for her support.
Racing turnouts down on last year. - Try a GP Open Day to be arranged in 2008
Can expect a small VAT rebate from engraving costs.

SOCIAL SECRETARY’S REPORT
Skittles March 2007
– Good venue, good food, repeat for 2008
Barbecue (June 2007) – Great night – Thanks to Jo & Dave Thompson.
End of Season Dinner at RNLI (October 2007)– Best yet, Good event – Thanks to Nigel

7.

EVENTS
GP14 Southern Areas 7/8 June 2008 – 5 races (possibly 6) over 2 days.
Sponsors in hand, 35 – 40 boats – Sat Social Band TBA according to budget.
Car Parking issues, about 20 visitors – Racing, Andy Macgregor liaising with Class Ass.
Meeting to be held after this AGM then January 2008.

8. VOLUNTEERS DUTIES.
Agreed average points needed for Crews. Martin Murphy will take to Sailing Committee.

9. CRITERIA FOR DIVISION OF FLEETS – Split into equal G,S,B, by ranking the average of all races sailed and finished. Adjustments can be made at each series end. Fleet winners decided on the final evening series .

ANY OTHER BUSINESS.
GP14 Class Flag – Urged by the club to use a Class Flag (poss. a black Bell on White)
Need 3 (one large), Martin to liaise with Class and Club.
Dayboat Nationals (mid Aug) – Volunteers please as the DB’s will officiate our event.
Winter Sunday Racing – Flags from now on due to electrical problems in bad weather.
Chinese Night at the Club – Martin encouraged all to attend
Saturday Afternoon Racing in the Spring Series – Martin and others were in favour of Saturday afternoons instead of Sunday mornings. Volunteer issues. Martin would approach Sailing Committee.
